CHANDNI CHOWK A PLACE OF RELIGION

JAMA MASJID
Hey everybody!

I hope you guys are doing great. I'm back to continue on my journey into Chandni Chowk. I hope you guys are enjoying as I go along.

ST. STEPHANS CATHEDRAL CHURCH

Most of us probably know Chandni Chowk because of its world famous food culture. But it is not only famous for its food. Chandni Chowk is one of the most important places in Delhi in terms of religion. As most of you would know, Chandni Chowk is closely located to Jama Masjid, which is considered to be Delhi's most famous mosque. Some other religious building include-
Sri Digambar Jain Lal Mandir, which was established in 1656.
Hindu Gauri Shankar temple, which was built by Maratha general Appa Gangadhar in 1761.
Shri Shiv Navgrah Mandir Dham, which is dedicated to Navgrah, with the presence of lord Shiva.
Christian Central Baptist church which was built in 1814.
Sikh Gurdwara Sis Gani Sahib- built in 1783 as a memorial to Guru Tegh Bahadur and his followers
Sunheri Masjid, which was built in 1721 by Roshan Ud Daula
SIS GANJ SAHIB GURUDWARA
Fatehpur Masjid, built by Fatehpuri Begum in 1650, one of the queens of Shah Jahan

Through this post I wanted to show Chandni Chowk in a lens which is considerably different than how it is portrayed otherwise. I hope all of you understand the fact that Chandni Chowk is more than just a place of history, it is a place of religion and a place of religious buildings with considerable history.
